Company History

1915 Tetsuzo Yamato establishes Yamato Shokai as a dryer manufacturer and becomes the first President.
1924 Moved the Head Office to the Katakura Building in Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
1930 Reorganized into a stock company.
1936 First overseas export (to the former USSR) of a large band dryer, to be followed by exports to many different countries.
1940 Company name changed to Yamato Sanko MFG., Co., Ltd..
1945 Moved the factory from Minami-Sunamachi, Koto-ku, Tokyo to Kuki-cho, Saitama.
1951 New factory established in Akabane, Kita-ku, Tokyo.
1953 Developed the Yamato type hot air cocoon dryer.
1957 Seiichi Yamato appointed as the second President.
1958 Developed the large sheet dryer.
1959 Developed the metal printing board baking furnace (tinplate oven).
1965 Moved the factory from Akabane, Kita-ku, Tokyo to Hatogaya, Saitama.
Tetsuzo Yamato is awarded the Blue Ribbon Medal.
50-year anniversary of Yamato Sanko's foundation.
1969 Developed the fully automatic tunnel dryer.
1970 Developed the fluidized bed band dryer.
Developed the vortex dryer and incinerator.
1974 Patent acquired (USA) for vortex dryer and incinerator.
1978 Concluded a technology licensing agreement with Auto Roll in the USA.
Developed a large plant for drying, humidity-controlling and processing food.
1979 Developed the up-down dryer.
1983 Yukio Yamato appointed as the third President.
1984 Seiichi Yamato receives a sericulture invention award from the Dainippon Silk Foundation .
1986 Teruaki Yamato appointed as the fourth President.
Developed the taco rotary dryer.
1992 Established Chengdu Yamato Thermal Machinery Co., Ltd. in Chengdu, China.
1998 Established a new Tokyo branch in Akabane, Kita-ku, Tokyo.
1999 Acquired ISO 9001.
Developed the vortex dryer.
2000 Moved the factory from Hatogaya, Saitama to Yabuki, Fukushima.
2002 Received inscribed crystal from Pingguo Wu , deputy mayor of Chengdu City, China.
2003 Established Wuxi Yamato Dryer, Co., Ltd. in Wuxi, China.
Merged with Chengdu Yamato Thermal Machinery Co., Ltd..
2004 Developed the superheated steam dryer (YSD).
2005 Expanded the Fukushima factory.
90-year anniversary of Yamato Sanko's foundation.
2007 Developed the evaporation concentrator.
2008 Delivered large-scale equipment (sludge dryer and incinerator (VDI)) to a sludge processing plant in Singapore; the largest in Southeast Asia.
2011 Developed the wedge style dryer (WSD) and free angle dryer (FAD).
2013 Moved the Head Office to Floor 43, Shinjuku Mitsui Building in Nishi Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo.
Completed a new research building at the Fukushima factory.
2014 Tomioka Silk Mill is designated a World Heritage Site.
Seven dryers delivered by Yamato Sanko are also certified as World Heritage artifacts.
2015 100-year anniversary of Yamato Sanko's foundation.
